Phase 1 Development
Phase 1 of Gateway development will begin on Friday 5 July 2019, with the launch of the procurement process for the Minimum Viable Product (MVP). The MVP will be comprised of two main parts:
- The Gateway Portal – MVP, requiring design and development of the front-end user experience, allowing researchers and innovators to easily search and identify relevant datasets. Procurement for development and design of the portal will be hosted by Government Digital Service’s Digital Marketplace. Health Data Research UK is looking for development and user-centred design skills from those interested in bidding to deliver the Gateway portal user interface. Interested parties should respond via the Government Digital Marketplace.

The closing date for the Gateway Portal will is 23:59 BST on 18 July.
- A Metadata Catalogue, which will provide the underlying functionality to support the Gateway portal, and which will be developed through a separate process. We are looking to procure a web-hosted backend application providing all the functionality to manage the metadata for the datasets discoverable through the portal.
The closing date for the Metadata Catalogue is 17:00 BST on 26 July.
Whilst these two components are being procured through separate processes and evaluated independently, we would welcome organisations to apply for both proposals.
