About us
Welcome to Health Data Research UK – the national institute for health data science. We are uniting the UK’s health data to enable discoveries that improve people’s lives. Our vision is that every health and care interaction and research endeavour will be enhanced by access to large scale data and advanced analytics.

What we do
Our vision is that every health interaction and research endeavour will be enhanced by access to large scale data and advanced analytics.

Who we are
We are an independent, non-profit organisation supported by 10 funders, with work based at 31 locations across the UK.

Our strategy
Our strategy sets out every location and team, and outlines how they are working together for the collective effort.

Funders
Our funders recognise the pivotal contribution of health data science towards achieving transformative health benefits.

Partner organisations
Through partnership, we aim to identify and act on opportunities to make bigger and better health data science improvements.

Locations
The organisation is based across research sites, hubs and central offices in 31 locations across the United Kingdom.

Funding to help tackle COVID-19
This initiative provides a co-ordinated international platform to enable researchers to access global data and thereby derive rapid insights about COVID-19 and speed up the development of treatments.

We need the best, and the best-trained, health data scientists if we are to use large scale data and advanced analytics to deliver better healthcare. HDR UK and its partners provide training and education to bring new talent into the field and help the UK’s existing health data scientists develop their careers and research.
