The Hubs
Health Data Research Hubs are centres of excellence with expertise, tools, knowledge and ways of working to maximise the insights and innovations developed from the health data
About the Hubs
Initially funded through the UK Research and Innovation Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) investment to kick-start the approach, these Hubs are formal collaborations between NHS, academic organisations, patients, charities and industry. Each Hub will be set up to demonstrate and drive the utility of expert health data science, based on an area of expertise. But this is not a research project – Hubs will be expected to provide data, curate the data and offer services for research and innovation.
Health Data Research Hubs will subscribe to the Alliance’s Terms & Conditions on information governance, ethics, intellectual property rights and commercial models as a data controller, and to the set of services in the Gateway
Over 100 organisations from the NHS and universities to charities and technology and pharmaceutical companies across the UK are involved in the hubs. The aim is to bring their collective expertise together to maximise the value of health data research potentially benefiting millions of people across the country.
