The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) is a partnership between South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, the UK’s largest mental health trust, and King’s College London.
They bring together scientists, clinicians, allied health professionals, service users and carers from across South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London.
Their leadership team consists of clinicians and academics working in mental health, neurology, and dementia.
Rob Stewart, Professor of Psychiatric Epidemiology and Clinical Informatics at King’s College London, and Clinical and Population Informatics lead at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre, said:
“I’m very pleased to be hosting candidates from the Black Internship Programme. Improving diversity in research communities is a long overdue, but thankfully growing, priority. My research group has been privileged over the years to provide training and experience to students and trainees at early stages in their careers and I look forward to continuing this through these summer placements.”
