Dr Mohammad Alsallakh is a health data scientist and researcher with interest in respiratory epidemiology, health inequalities, and research reproducibility. His PhD thesis described the development of the Wales Asthma Observatory to facilitate asthma epidemiological research using electronic health records.

Mohammad has nearly a decade’s experience using the UK’s electronic health records data for respiratory research, with a particular expertise in developing reproducible data extraction methods using the SAIL Databank.

Mohammad is co-designing the PhD student training strategy within the HDR UK’s Inflammation and Immunity Driver Programme and is keen to support the next generation of health data researchers to develop their research and data skills.

He is one of the HDR UK Training Leads for Wales.
