Amal’s research focus is on characterising structural and individual determinants of health and health inequalities among vulnerable populations in the built, physical and social environments (including air pollution, temperature, greenness and psychosocial stress), particularly in the areas of maternal and child health.

The Kids Environment and Health Cohort is a new data resource that allow researchers to study the link between environments in and around schools and homes, and children’s health and education.
What is your motivation for undertaking this project and how will this funding impact your research?
We aim to understand how the local environment influences the health and education of children.
