The Public Advisory Board was established in January 2019 and is responsible for:
- Providing strategic advice to Heath Data Research UK’s Director, Senior Management Team and Board
- Embedding patient, carer and public involvement and engagement
- Supporting efforts to earn public trust and confidence in health data research
- Supporting accountability
It’s nine members were selected in January 2019 through a rigorous and competitive application process, allowing room for the Advisory Board to grow in the future to add in additional perspectives and experiences. Members come from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, including patients, carers and the public and professionals working in engagement and involvement activities.
The Public Advisory Board meets every two months and its members provide input on projects in between meetings.
