Dr Yalda Ashraf Kharaz is the Programme Manager for HDR UK Medicines in Acute and Chronic Care Driver Programme and Regional Network Manager for HDR UK North

Her career in biomedical science continued with a PhD in Musculoskeletal Biology from the University of Liverpool. She subsequently pursued multiple postdoctoral research positions, focusing on epigenetics in connective tissue diseases and osteoarthritis. Transitioning into research management, Yalda served as a Research Development Manager at the University of Liverpool, where she supported strategic bids and fellowship development across the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. This role further enhanced her skills in communication, collaboration, and operational management.

In her current role, Yalda oversees the HDR UK Medicines in Acute and Chronic Care Programme and the HDR UK North Regional Network. She works closely with the Co-Directors and Co-Lead to guide the program’s direction, acting as the primary point of contact for research partners and stakeholders. She ensures operational efficiency and effectiveness while supporting objectives and project deliverables across both the HDR UK North region and the HDR UK Medicines Driver Programme.
