Senior Communications and Engagement Manager at DARE UK

Westley Igbo is a Nigerian Strategic Communications Expert supporting the UKRI Data Analytics and Research Environments UK (DARE UK) programme as Senior Communications and Engagement Manager. DARE UK is co-implemented by Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) and Administrative Data Research UK (ADR UK) to design and deliver a coordinated and trustworthy national data research infrastructure to support UK cross-domain research for public good.
Prior to joining DARE UK, Westley led strategic communications functions across several successful funded interventions in Nigeria and the UK, including Our Dorset Enhanced Health and Wellbeing Programme (NHS England), Regional Programme for Pandemic Prevention (GIZ and ECOWAS), On Nigeria Programme (MacArthur Foundation), Nigeria Energy Support Programme (GIZ and EU), Total Market Approach for HIV Prevention Programming (USAID), among others.
Westley holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and is currently completing his master’s degree in Communication Science at the University of Vienna. He is interested in exploring Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and other modern immersive and intuitive tools to make communications initiatives more inclusive and impactful at scale.
