Vivek Indramohan
Associate Professor & Course Director - Biomedical Engineering, Birmingham City University
Dr. Vivek Indramohan is a Biomedical Engineer and an academic by professional background; as an Associate Professor and Course Director of Biomedical Engineering, he oversees the operation and quality of both undergraduate and post graduate provision in Biomedical Engineering within the faculty. Vivek is a designated professional member of institute of engineering and technology (IET), and Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM), and has contributed to a number of technical publications alongside various ‘Education Commissioning for Quality (ECQ)’ funded pedagogical or scholarly research activities focusing on engaging undergraduate and post graduate students as; co-researchers, mentors or partners in designing appropriate undergraduate learning and teaching interventions. In his current role Vivek has the responsibility for leading the college’s student employability and mobility activities. In light of this role, Vivek has maintained strong partnership working with colleagues within healthcare and engineering sector across the West Midlands region and subsequently has facilitated numerous industry based technical dissertation / placements for students from life sciences background. In addition, he is a member of the British Commonwealth Association (BCA), deputising the chair of their Education Sub Group and co-representing the BCA on the Greater Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce in Birmingham/West Midlands. With a very keen interest in Transnational Education, Vivek also fulfils the role of an Academic Advisor for collaborative STEM programmes currently managed in partnership with `BCU strategic partners – abroad’.
