Tania’s undergraduate background in Psychology from the University of Birmingham built her fascination with predictive analysis and its potential to inform interventions, as well as a foundation in applying psychobiological concepts in wellbeing research. She explored these through her dissertation, where she utilised regression analyses to support cognitive-based reading interventions, and an internship assessing PTSD therapy efficacy using neurobiological data.
Following her degree, Tania was exposed to emerging work at a scientific journal alongside discussions with health and data researchers during an internship at the National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia. These strengthened her intent to learn more advanced analytical skills to utilise health data for better disease prevention, understanding, care and equity.
Tania is therefore thrilled to be pursuing an MSc in Modelling for Global Health at the University of Oxford, with support from HDR UK and the Stroke Association. Through developing expertise in mathematical modelling and machine learning, she aims to integrate these tools with her psychobiological background to advance research that supports stroke survivors and reduces the burden from this disease.
