Rachael Lowe
HDRUK Scotland Research Programme Coordinator at Health Data Research UK (HDR UK)

Rachael is the research programme coordinator for HDR UK Scotland Regional Network, based in the Usher Institute at the University of Edinburgh. She is also a Training Lead for Scotland.
Rachael joined the Institute in March 2023 working as a programme coordinator for another research group, and joined HDR UK in June 2024. In addition to this role, she also works in the Usher Institute’s communication’s department as a content officer.
Prior to this, Rachael has a background working as a clinical trials assistant in the NHS for both Heamatology and Covid-19 clinical research. She also worked on The Health Foundation’s Network Data Lab as a project support officer in the NHS on a research project relating to Young People’s mental health services in Leeds.
She completed a masters in Global Health Policy at the University of Edinburgh in 2022, with a focus on the influence of the private sector in Covid-19 Vaccine distribution.
