Ewan Pearson is Professor of Diabetic Medicine at the University of Dundee, Visiting Professor at the University of Edinburgh, and Honorary Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School in Dundee. Ewan leads the ‘precision therapeutics’ theme in Health Data Research UK, Scotland, which aims to look at polypharmacy (people using multiple drugs that potential will interact with each other to cause harm), how a patient’s genetic code increases or decreases the potential for benefit or harm from drugs, and how we can use this genetic information to guide treatment for patients in the NHS.
