Peter is a physician who since 2008, has held a series of senior roles in the European Medicines Agency (EMA), where he currently leads the EMA’s Taskforce for Data Analytics and Methods and plays a key role in transforming to data-driven medicines regulation and strengthening clinical evidence for decision-making on medicines. He is Chair of EMA’s Data Board, Co-Chair of the Network Data Steering Group and has responsibility for the Accelerating Clinical Trials in the EU (ACT-EU) and DARWIN EU Real World Evidence programmes.
Having trained in the UK and held a series of clinical roles within the NHS, before becoming a medicines regulatory at national, EU and international levels. Peter continues to have a strong engagement with the UK including in his position as honorary Professor at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Peter also has strong links to the wider HDR UK community, particularly those involved in the European Health Data Evidence Network (EHDEN) and DARWIN programmes.
