Nolia is currently pursuing an MSc in health data science at UCL. Her interest in human health and disease began during her BSc in neuroscience at the University of Bristol, where she found herself especially drawn to the computational and statistical aspects of her studies. This sparked a passion for working with data, leading her to complete a government-funded data science bootcamp and begin a career in data and reporting in the media industry.
While this experience helped her develop her skills in a commercial setting, her true interest remained in health research. Motivated by to the potential impact of health data research she decided to return to academia to study health data science. She is particularly interested in sustainability and understanding the environmental factors impacting health and wellbeing.
Since starting at UCL, Nolia has connected with HDR UK through attending webinars and joining their mentorship program.
