Nambula (Nami) is a physics undergrad at Exeter University. As a mature student she’s had prior experience working as a people co-ordinator and a sales intelligence executive, where she queried HR and sales data respectively, using Python, SQL and Power BI to find trends and help inform business decisions.
The first year of her physics degree has already sharpened her data analysis skillset— e.g. through projects analysing NASA exoplanet data using Python—and it’s made Nami curious as to how all this these solutions can be utilised in a health data context. She is excited to start her internship at the NIHR Exeter Biomedical Research Centre, specifically to get stuck into real clinical datasets, have a go at creating machine-learning decision aids and learn the ropes of data privacy and ethics.
