I  have been working with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) as a statistician for a couple of years, responsible for statistical analysis, tax revenue forecasting and big data management (to mention a few).

The desire to become an expert in data analytics with vibrant diagnostic skills in solving policy challenges in the public sector was among the reasons to pursue MSc Statistical Data Science at the University of Kent. I trust through this internship I will be equipped with in-depth practical-based analysis skills and knowledge to integrate the theory that I’m currently learning at the university.

The skills and knowledge gained at MRC Biostatistics Unit (under HDR-UK) will be used to offer practical policy options to the UK and then to my home country, especially to the Tanzania Ministry of Health through conducting data-driven and evidence-based research to address health challenges which is a national challenge and a global concern.
