Kirsty Irvine

Chair, Independent Group Advising (NHS Digital) on the Release of Data (IGARD)

Kirsty has a background as a corporate solicitor but was appointed in 2017 to IGARD as a lay/patient member due to her lived experience as a health research participant and carer.  Now Chair of IGARD, Kirsty is an active contributor to a number of national forums about the use of patient data, including previously as a member of the Oversight Group for the National Data Guardian's public dialogue on the use of health and care data for public benefit. Kirsty champions numerous health charities who support her family, and is currently a lay examiner for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
