Joanne joined Health Data Research UK in June 2025 in the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) team. She provides leadership for PPIE activities within the Brain Health initiatives and oversees the co-ordination of HDR UK’s Public Advisory Board and the HDR UK Voices network.
Joanne has over 10 years’ experience in PPIE and science communication, and has worked alongside many public and patient groups. Her previous roles include at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology, University College London and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. Joanne also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford and a Master’s Degree in Science Communication from the University of the West of England.
