Joan is a third-year Msci biomedical science student at Lancaster University. She has a deep passion for cancer research and a new found interest in health data. She is particularly interested in how health data can be harnessed for the public good in the field of cancer, and how patterns and trends uncovered by data can be used to develop interventions that improve patient care and outcomes.
Joan is excited to be a part of the HDR UK programme and to be joining Prostate Cancer UK, and hopes to make meaningful contributions to the team there. Through this internship, she aims to build on her understanding of the world of health data, refine her skills in data analytics, and push herself to learn new skills and develop both professionally and personally.
