Professor Jim Smith is part of the HDR UK South-West programme team.
Jim Smith is Professor in Interactive AI at University of West England, Bristol. His research interests include the interaction between AI and Statistical Disclosure Control. Recent projects include GRAIMATTER and SACRO, which developed (semi) automated processes for evaluating the privacy risk of ’traditional’ and AI outputs from confidential data. This work is currently being continued as part of TREvolution – a major cross-UKRI initiative advancing sensitive data research.
