Dr James (Jim) Squires joined Health Data Research in February 2026 as the HDR UK – NHSE Data Partnership Programme Manager. In this role, he supports collaboration between HDR UK and NHS England to support the research use of NHSE national health datasets.
With over 9 years in the policy and public affairs field, Jim brings extensive experience in cross-sectoral partnerships, strategy and advocacy as well as specialist knowledge in health data research, health inequalities and artificial intelligence.
Jim joined HDR UK from the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, where he led the Association’s health data and digital policy team. Previously, he has held health policy roles at the Health Foundation and the Academy of Medical Sciences, following a PhD in cancer biology.
