Dr Holly Tibble is a Chancellor’s Fellow in Medical Informatics at the University of Edinburgh’s Usher Institute. She works within the Centre for Medical Informatics and the School of Population Health Sciences.
Dr Tibble’s background is as a statistician and epidemiologist. Her primary passion is turning electronic health data into actionable clinical insights, particularly within the domain of patient behaviour. Her research focus areas include:
- Electronic health record analysis methodology and standards
- Medication Adherence: Building data-driven typologies to map out and understand complex patient behaviours regarding missed medications.
- Real world evidence: Large scale studies of patient behaviour including prescription collections and blood donation.
- Respiratory Health: Evaluating policy and practice changes, and developing risk prediction models to support asthma management.
Dr Tibble is also the Principal Investigator of the SMART Choices Study: Leading active investigations on how mild asthma patients manage symptoms using single maintenance and reliever therapies.
