Graham King is Chief Information Officer at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals Foundation Trust. As Chief Information Officer, King is responsible for developing and implementing the Trust’s Information and Technology Strategy and leading digital innovation and the delivery of new services at the Trust. In addition, he is the CIO of the Great North Care Record developing shared digital services across the North East of England for a population of 3.4million, integrating Health and Care records from 30 organisations

King is a highly successful Digital leader with significant experience in both the Private and Public sector leading complex transformation programmes. He has over 15 years’ experience in Health Care, defining strategic direction and delivering the transformation in organisations to utilise digitally integrated Health Care Records. He has a successful track record in delivering greenfield programmes, programme recovery and dealing with commercial issues, whilst building effective client relationships. He is experienced in leading multi-million pound programmes, managing substantial budgets, large diverse teams and the allocation of resources against competing requirements.

Prior to joining the NHS in 2014 King led the Global Development and Delivery arm of BT Global Health, operating across country boundaries delivering application and infrastructure services including data centre migration, broadband network services, bespoke software build, system integration and test and client site transition and transformation services.
