Professor of Hepatology at QMUL/Barts Health, founder of the Barts Liver Centre, National NHSE Clinical Lead for hepatitis C virus (HCV) and Chairman NHSE Hepatobiliary CRG. Professor Foster is an experienced clinical trialist acting as national and international principal investigator on numerous trials. When the all oral antivirals for HCV were launched, he set up a unique academic/NHSE/pharma collaboration that allowed English patients with advanced disease pre-licensed access to therapy with academic monitoring, allowing the first studies of antiviral therapy in advanced disease.
