Eve Ferguson
PhD Student (Medicines in Acute and Chronic Care) at University of Strathclyde

I have recently started at the University of Strathclyde as a Clinical PhD student, and my clinical background is in nursing.
I have experience in variety of settings, originally qualifying in the learning disability field. The nature of illness in this population gave me skills in managing the deteriorating patient, and this informed my interest in acute care and subsequent move to ICU nursing. Changing environments allowed me to gain experience in working with individuals with multiple long-term conditions and complex health needs in both an acute and long-term care settings.
Project Information
Research driver programme: Medicines in Acute and Chronic Care
Project details:
My research project is unconfirmed at the moment, and will be subject to the results of my literature/scoping review as well as clinical need.
Research focus:
My focuses are on tackling health disparities, enhancing patient outcomes in the long term, and reducing the harm that we as clinicians can affect. The Medicines and Acute and Chronic care programme encompasses this well, and I hope to contribute to the important and clinically applicable research generated by HDR UK community.
