Emmanuel is currently pursuing an MSc in bioinformatics at Teesside University, following his undergraduate degree in biochemistry. As part of the HDR UK internship programme, he is working with the UK Health Security Agency in the Health Analytics and Automation team, in collaboration with the University of Glasgow. His project focuses on predicting zoonotic disease risk using machine learning and genome sequencing data.
Emmanuel is particularly interested in the intersection of machine learning and genomics, with a long-term goal of pursuing a PhD focused on AI applications in personalized medicine. Through this internship, he hopes to deepen his understanding of real-world bioinformatics workflows, collaborative research, and the use of reproducible pipelines in genomic data analysis.
