Edward is completing an MSc in health data science at the University of St Andrews, building on a strong foundation in public health and over six years of experience in healthcare data management. He is passionate about applying data-driven technologies to real-world health challenges.

At the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), Edward is working with the Infectious Disease Modelling team. His project focuses on mosquito image classification using deep learning to support disease surveillance and vector control. His MSc research also explores the use of deep learning for early cancer detection in medical imaging, with the aim of improving diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.

Previously, he worked as a health information analyst at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where he led efforts to streamline large datasets and support workforce and clinical decision-making. Through this internship, Edward hopes to deepen his skills in machine learning and computer vision while contributing to global health security and innovative disease prevention strategies.
