Dr Ian Overton’s research focuses on developing and applying integrative approaches in order to advance cancer medicine, including analysis of ‘big data’ with machine learning and graph theoretic/statistical methods. A major focus is molecular control of cell phenotypic plasticity in metastasis and drug resistance.
Ian and his team aims to translate results into medical practice in collaboration with clinical colleagues and develop more effective approaches for cancer patient stratification. For example, they seek to match patients with appropriate clinical (treatment) pathways and to discover new therapies.
