During his career, Dr Derek Corrigan has developed a strong mix of both practical industry and research academic experience. Derek has 15 years of industry experience as a software developer and upon completion of his MSc in Health Informatics he joined the HRB Centre for Primary Care Research doing research as a work package leader on a large 5 year collaborative European Union funded FP7 research project developing infrastructure to support a Learning Health System.
During the course of his research and completion of his Phd in 2016, Derek has developed interests in knowledge representation using semantic web technologies, OpenEHR archteypes, service based decision support systems for primary care and secondary use of aggregated health data to support cognitive learning and conduct of research trials.
