Danny Alexander
Professor of Imaging Sciences at UCL and leader of both the POND group and the Microstructure Imaging Group at University College London (UCL)
Professor Danny Alexander is Director of the Centre for Medical Image Computing (CMIC) and one of the deputy heads of the Computer Science (CS) Department at UCL. He leads the MIG (Microstructure Imaging Group) and the POND (Progression of Neurological Diseases) group.
Danny’s background is in mathematics and computer science. His expertise is in computational modelling, pattern recognition, and machine learning for biomedical imaging and data analysis. His research aims to add understanding and capability in biomedicine by drawing on ideas from medical imaging, computer vision, data science, and machine learning. Much of Danny’s work focuses on imaging and the fusion of information from imaging with other data types (imaging + X).
