Christian Schnier
Research Fellow (Inflammation and Immunity) at Queens University Belfast
Christian is a Research Fellow at the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, Queen’s University, Belfast.
His interest lies in the use of linked electronic health data to identify public health problems and to suggest solutions. In previous research projects he has used national and international linked health datasets to investigate, inter alia, aspects of dementia, epilepsy, blood-borne virus diseases, inflammatory bowel disease and stroke.
With a keen interest in One Health, he has been awarded a PhD in veterinary epidemiology from the University of Helsinki and published several studies in both human and animal health.
About Christian’s Inflammation and Immunity fellowship project
In 2024, he has joined the team of Liam Heaney, John Busby and Adriana Kramer Fiala Macha to investigate morbidity, characteristics and clinical outcomes of severe asthma in the UK.
