Chiara joined HDRUK in November 2025 as the new Programme Manager for the CRUK Cancer Data Driven Detection (CD3) Programme.

Chiara has always had a strong passion for biomedical research and promoting the dialogue between academia, the public and industry.

Chiara brings experience in lab-based cancer research and completed her PhD in Molecular Biology in 2020.  After this, she spent some time in the commercial sector while working for a small biotech company and developed skills in Digital Pathology and Image Analysis. Chiara joined Public Health Scotland (PHS) in 2023, where as a research coordinator, she gained expertise in managing access to national-level health and administrative data.

In her role as CD3 Programme Manager, she will join in the effort to make UK-wide, multimodal cancer research a real possibility. She will use her previous experience in Information Governance (IG), data access applications and Trusted Research Environments (TREs) to help connect the vast landscape of electronic health records (EHRs), administrative data and study cohorts across the 4 UK nations. The aim is to create a legacy of connected data and advanced analytics to help revolutionise our understanding of cancer risk and promote early detection and prevention.
