Caroline is Professor of Medical Sociology within the Centre for Primary Care and Health Services Research at University of Manchester. Her recent and current work has a major focus patient and carer experiences of health and healthcare, including the co-design and evaluation of digital health innovations. She has methodological expertise in qualitative and participatory research methods and additional interests in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE). She leads a theme of research focused on marginalised groups (patient and carer experiences) within the NIHR Greater Manchester Patient Safety Translational Research Centre. She also leads on Public Involvement and Engagement for Manchester Academic Health Science Centre and the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC-GM).
