Anna Grosse is one of Inflammation and Immunity’s PPI lay leads, working alongside Dr Tracy Jackson and Karen Mooney to ensure that the voices of patient and public members are heard and meaningfully entwined with the research culture and programme outputs.

Prior to joining Inflammation and Immunity, Anna was a Children and Young People (CYP) PPI member with the Asthma UK Centre for Applied Research, an experience she found to be invaluable. She hopes that her experiences and knowledge gained from both her previous and ongoing PPI projects will allow her to assist with, and be of benefit to, future research.

Anna is eager to learn more about research related to respiratory disorders and comorbidities, with an added focus on exploring the emotional, physical, psychological and social aspects of life with chronic conditions.

She is currently studying psychology at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, and hopes to involve her interest in psychology with her PPI work.

Anna said: “I hope that I&I will showcase an inclusive and combined PPIE approach between members of the public, patients, academics and researchers, creating integral foundations for future research to follow.”
