Angel is a second-year BSc biological sciences student at Durham University, with a strong academic grounding in life sciences and a growing passion for health data equity. As a decolonisation Intern, she is actively working to improve the inclusivity of clinical trial education by developing teaching materials and delivering workshops that spotlight the need for representative and culturally relevant data in healthcare.

She is particularly passionate about ensuring that health data reflects the diverse backgrounds and diseases experienced by all populations. This commitment is rooted in her belief that accurate and inclusive data is fundamental to developing effective clinical interventions and driving health equity on a global scale.

Angel is proficient in R and currently expanding her skills in Python for data analysis and visualisation. She is excited to further develop these technical capabilities through the HDRUK internship and contribute meaningfully to impactful health research. Outside of academia, Angel is passionate about charity fundraising initiatives, having helped raise over £200,000 for causes such as Macmillan Cancer Support and suicide prevention charities.
