Andy Yates joined HDR UK as Chief Solutions Architect in May 2026, having previously been Team Leader of the Genomics Technology Infrastructure team at EMBL‑EBI and co‑PI of the Ensembl project. He was a key architect of Ensembl’s data platforms and led work to adapt its technical foundations to scale across the tree of life, from microorganisms to plants. Andy is an active contributor to the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH), where he co‑leads the Technical Alignment Subcommittee. His work spans data infrastructure, systems design, and standards governance across genomics and health data.
