Amaliah-Saffron is a final-year psychology student at the University of Birmingham, passionate about ensuring mental health research includes representative, inclusive data. She is particularly interested in using data-driven approaches that combine technology and research to improve diagnostic accuracy, treatment outcomes, and our understanding of psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders.
She aims to contribute to healthcare systems that ethically enhance quality of life while driving broader impact. Her interests lie in predictive and normative modelling to better understand early-onset psychiatric disorders and inform more personalised diagnosis and intervention. She is also keen to explore how patient-generated health data, such as from wearable devices, can optimise individualised care.
Amaliah-Saffron is excited for the HDR UK internship to help her strengthen her skills in model development and data analysis, and to deepen her contribution to mental health science. She looks forward to engaging with the innovative work at King’s College London and developing a relationship with the institution.
