Amaka Dibigbo is an award-winning medical student at Cardiff University and is currently pursuing a master’s in public health at the University of Bristol. Amaka has led initiatives to improve community health and enhance the efficiency of local healthcare structures. Her work has engaged local stakeholders and researchers and connected them with under-served communities, resulting in impactful community engagement in research. Professionally, Amaka aims to understand all aspects of healthcare, from clinical practice and research in order to be an ‘army Swiss knife of healthcare’
From this internship, she hopes to get a better understanding of health research and how to best involve under-served and hard to reach communities in health research, particularly form the perspective of the researcher. She hopes to produce informative learning resources that will be long lasting and far reaching for HDR and beyond
