Alice joined HDR UK in February 2020, initially providing strategic and delivery leadership to the Better Care programme.  This programme aimed to improve patient care through the development and implementation of data driven learning health systems and Alice worked with researchers and NHS colleagues across the UK to establish the interdisciplinary networks essential for success in this area.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic Alice helped establish the Data and Connectivity programme.  As one of the National Core Studies established by Patrick Vallance and Chris Whitty, Data and Connectivity worked to facilitate data access for key research studies through the pandemic. Alice helped develop the strategic vision and delivery plan for this programme, leading to its successful launch.

From January 2021 to December 2022, Alice helped lead HDR UK’s 5-year core-funding renewal.  Alice provided overall delivery and co-ordination leadership of the Institute’s core-funding award, which forms the foundation for all the Institute’s activities. She worked with research leaders across the UK to shape a coherent strategy for the Institute’s second five years and led the submission and evaluation with HDR UK’s nine core funders securing their significant ongoing investment.

Now as Director of Programme Delivery and Integration, Alice works across HDR UK’s programmes to ensure coordination, monitoring and integration of delivery across all Institute programmes.

Prior to joining HDR UK, Alice worked at PHE, leading the SACT (chemotherapy) data collection from all NHS trusts in England and has a background working in consultancy, research and the NHS.
