As Programme Director for Better Care, Dr Alice Turnbull’s role is to support the Better Care programme in its vision to improve people’s lives by equipping clinicians and patients in the UK with the best possible data-based information to make decisions about their care. Working in partnership with the Better Care leadership team, broader HDR UK Better Care network and external stakeholders, Alice supports the integration of the wide community who are integral to realising this aim.

Alice also works across the HDR UK central team to develop the vision and delivery plan for our next quinquennium, positioning HDR UK to play a unique enabling role to maximise the future impact of health data research across the UK.

Alice joined HDR UK from the Public Health England (PHE) where she worked in the National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service leading the collection of the national SACT dataset. Before this Alice has held roles in life sciences consultancy, academic research and programme management of frontline clinical initiatives with the NHS.
