Alice Dowden joined HDR UK as Public Engagement and Involvement Officer in November 2020 to support the delivery of patient, public and practitioner engagement and involvement activities and to ensure their voice is reflected in all of our work. Following her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Neuroscience at Cardiff University, Alice completed her PGCE in Secondary Education and worked as a science teacher before moving into the charity sector through the Gradunique programme at the British Heart Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support. Here she worked across a range of areas including events, public affairs and community engagement, and delivered engagement activities across the UK such as supporter thank you days, community workshops and large collaborative events.
