Health Data Research UK is a co-funder of this role.
The Oxford University Big Data Institute (BDI) is a new interdisciplinary research centre aiming to develop, evaluate and deploy efficient methods for acquiring and analysing biomedical data at scale and for exploiting the opportunities for large-scale studies. The Institute provides core facilities in high performance computing and houses over 350 researchers drawn from a wide range of departments.
As Senior Group Leader (SGL), you will provide intellectual leadership within the BDI and HDR UK Oxford. You will lead a research group and a programme of independent externally funded research projects in epidemiological uses of health data with a particular focus on the acquisition and analysis of routine NHS data. To be considered, you will have a PhD (or equivalent experience) and be an internationally leading authority in areas relating to the acquisition and analysis of large linked healthcare datasets, and generation and presentation of results to influence clinical practice and population health, with an outstanding publication record. Significant experience of developing research strategies, delivering successful research projects and an excellent reputation regarding teaching and academic supervision are also essential.
The position is full-time (although part-time considered) and is offered on an open-ended basis.
Informal enquiries should be addressed to Professor Martin Landray (firstname.lastname@example.org).
