Outline of provision to the Hub

IBM are providing expertise and delivery capacity in Solution and Information Architecture, Business Analysis and Service Design working alongside the NHS Digital technical developers and service owner. In addition, IBM are providing a range of specialist expertise in support of the NHS DigiTrials becoming a sustainable service offer including market analysis, assessment of potential demand and assessment of market value.

Note: The DigiTrials Consortium is developing the Clinical Trials Feasibility Service which outputs aggregate data (never patient level data) for customers. IBM staff will not, as part of the DigiTrials Programme, have access to any Patient Level Data nor will any patient data be transferred to IBM infrastructure. IBM will not act as a Data Processor.

The hub is benefiting from both significant investment of resource as well as the specialist skills, knowledge and expertise that IBM provide to accelerate progress in order to rapidly to deliver a sustainable operational service designed around user needs.

IBM brings:
– a wealth of experience of the Life Sciences sector and of working collaboratively across industry to support UK health organisations to use their data to improve patient care and enable research.
– deep industry experience of large programmes and complex technical and data-driven delivery.
– commercial experience of new product and service delivery.

As members of the DigiTrials Consortium, IBM and Microsoft will:

– gain valuable experience of working with each other and NHS and Academic partners
– gain valuable insight into this new and exciting domain. This experience will be invaluable, and transferrable, to other areas of the Healthcare Sector.

Microsoft

Microsoft is working alongside NHS Digital and IBM to design the technical architecture plan for additional technical capabilities to enable NHS DigiTrials to deliver a fast and efficient service.
