As a supporter of the Concordat to Support Research Integrity, Health Data Research UK is committed to maintaining the highest standards of rigour and integrity in all aspects of research. The UUK Concordat to Support Research Integrity provides a comprehensive national framework for good research conduct and its governance. We are committed to the following principles:

2. Ensuring that research is conducted according to appropriate ethical, legal and professional frameworks, obligations and standards;
3. Supporting a research environment that is underpinned by a culture of integrity and based on good governance, best practice and support for the development of researchers;
4. Using transparent, robust and fair processes to deal with allegations of research misconduct should they arise;
5. Working together to strengthen the integrity of research and to review process regularly and openly.
Responsibility for commitment to these principles lies with the Institute as an employer and supporter of research through our Substantive Sites and Partner research organisations. Responsibility also lies with external organisations involved in our research such as funders, and individual researchers.
HDR UK promotes an organisational culture in which the highest standards of personal conduct are encouraged and expected, and ensures that research integrity is embedded in the research environment through leadership and supporting infrastructure including contractual agreements. The Institute takes appropriate action, in line with the relevant policies, in instances where there are allegations or discoveries of research misconduct or fraud.
The Institute Director has responsibility for ensuring that HDR UK meets its obligations and observes best practice in research integrity.
